Since May 2001 the college has held an annual awards ceremony. Awards are presented for achievement in different areas of school life.
Academic
This award is given per tutor group and is based on Christmas examination results.
Attendance
Students who have perfect attendance records receive this award.
All-Round Achievement
This award is given to one student in each tutor group and is allocated on the basis of work rate, co-operation with teachers and pride taken in school related activities.
Arts
Students who excel in the areas of music, drama and art are considered for this award.
Sports
There is an award for excellence in each sporting area.
Subject Awards
Subject awards for each subject are based on enthusiasm and passion for the subject in addition to academic achievement.
Special Subject Awards (LC2):
- Jim Hurley Cup – Award for excellence in the science area.
- Agricultural Science Project – Award for best Agricultural Science Project.
- Helen Rath Music Award – Award for excellence in senior music.
- Duais uá Mhórda – This award is for excellence across a range of practical subjects.
School Spirit Award
This award is given to students who contribute to the school community throughout the year and give of their time freely and not for personal gain.
State Examinations
Best Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate results of the previous year.
LC2 Student of the Year
There are four nominees, each of whom receives a prize, and there is one overall winner. The Student of The Year award is the most prestigious accolade that can be earned by a student.
